Gustonic is a project initiated in November 2007 in Barcelona. Born with a willingness to rethink and renew existing resources on the network related to food at home. Gustonic wants to offer simple solutions and useful to those Internet users who usually eat at home for them easier organization and planning meals. Gustonic is more than a web recipes. Gustonic is an application to free Web service for managing food at home.

Jordi Vivancos, Llorenç Vallès, Marc Cercós, Pau Garcia-Milà, Jordi Collell, Daniel Gil and Jacques Menezes are the members of the team Gustonic. Team members have experience in prominent, succesfull and awarded projects in the network including EyeOs and Delibera. The absence of simple and powerful Web applications in the field of food at home, along with his passion for cooking and the need to further facilitate the organization and planning meals housework, are the reasons that inspired them to create Gustonic.

Gustonic 1.0. has 4 integrated applications: a search for recipes, a recipe book for each user, a meal planner and a shopping list. In addition to the possibilities offered by each of these applications -which highlight planner for their innovative nature and his potential-, the most important contribution of Gustonic is the interrelationship between all applications. With Gustonic seeking recipes, the configuration of the shopping list, planning menus and books of users are interdependent and can be used simultaneously.

In an immediate future Gustonic plans to incorporate a search engine product and a platform that allows online purchase, which will complement the applications offered by Gustonic 1.0.

It is also an application that can use undertakings and entities associated with the field of domestic or family food, such as catering services in schools, collective associations of people with particular dietary habits, companies producing and distributing food characteristics aimed at domestic consumption, among other.

Gustonic is a free service to the whole community that is fed mainly from their contributions. All inputs from the community are available to all users, who can use them and incorporate them individually across applications of Gustonic. All recipes of Gustonic, whatever their provenance, can be used by registered users on their personal recipe books and their individual schedules.
